Biyografi

Dr Hasan Özdemir received his B.A. in Geography in 2000, his MSc. degree in Physical Geography in 2002, and his PhD in Physical Geography from Istanbul University in 2007. His doctoral research focused on "Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) Based Flood and Landslide Risk Analysis." During his PhD, he also attended the "GeoHazard" course at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS-India), the "MultiRisk" course at Bonn University (Germany), and the "Study and Management of Geological Risks" course at CERG (University of Geneva-Switzerland). In 2009, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul University. Later, in 2011, he pursued a post-doctorate in the School of Geographical Sciences at Bristol University (UK) on "Evaluating scale and roughness effect in urban flood modelling using terrestrial LiDAR data" through the TUBITAK foundation. Currently, Dr Özdemir holds the position of Professor in the Physical Geography Division at Bursa Uludag University. His research primarily focuses on GIS and RS-based rainfall-runoff modelling, flood hazard and risk assessment, and geomorphometric analysis of river basins using various data and scales. He is also a member of hydrology group of Bursa Uludağ University.
