Prof. MURAT TAŞ

In 1993, he graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Architecture. He completed his master's degree in 1995 and his doctorate in 2003 in the same department. After working freelance in Istanbul for a year, Murat Taş started his academic career as a research assistant in 1994 with the opening of Uludağ University Department of Architecture and was appointed as a professor in 2015. He served as a member of the 11th and 12th Board of Directors of the Chamber of Architects Bursa Branch. He has many international and national published articles, papers, conferences, seminars, TÜBİTAK project referees, architectural project competition jury memberships, architectural project competition awards, and many professional architectural project activities and consultancy. He served as the Head of the Department of Architecture at Uludağ University Faculty of Architecture between 2014-2017, as a member of the Bursa Regional Board for the Protection of Cultural Heritage between 2011-2017, including the chairman of the last three years, as the UNESCO World Heritage Iznik Area Head between 2016-2021, as a member of the Bursa Uludağ University Senate between 2019-2022, and as a member of the Bursa Earthquake Science Board between 2023-2024. Since January 2023, he has been a member of Bursa AFAD Bursa Disaster Mitigation Plan/IRAP Monitoring and Evaluation Board and since July 2024, he has been the Head of the Department of Building at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Architecture.
