Prof. HALİL SAĞLAM

Biography

He was born on 17.09.1966 in Kabaçam Village of Doğanşar district of Sivas province. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Izmit.

He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine (English) in 1992 and received the title of "doctor". He became a "pediatrician" by working as a research assistant at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Health and Diseases between 1993-1998. After working as a minor research assistant in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism of the same faculty between 1999-2002, he received the titles of Pediatric Endocrinology Specialist and Pediatric Metabolism and Nutrition Specialist.

He continued his studies as a lecturer in Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Health and Diseases, and received the titles of Assistant Professor in 2004, Associate Professor in 2009 and Professor in 2018. He founded the Department of Child Metabolism and Nutrition in 2011 under the same department.

He worked as the Assistant Dean of Education at BUU Faculty of Medicine between 2015-2019 in the management staff. At that time, the Faculty of Medicine switched from the Credit Education System to the Integrated Education System and Pre-Graduation Medical Education was reaccredited by TEPDAD for 6 years.

He has been working as the Founding Dean of Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Dentistry since April 9, 2019.

He has been working as the Head of the Department of Translational Medicine at the Institute of Health Sciences since 13.08.2021.

He has been working as the Chief Physician of Bursa Uludağ University Hospital (Health Practice and Research Center = SUAM) since 16.06.2023.
