Applied Mechanics and Advanced Materials Research Group (AMAMRG/UMIMAG) was established in 2013 by Prof. Dr. Murat YAZICI. Prof. YAZICI has successfully completed more than 25 projects supported by the EU, The Scientific And Technological Research Council Of Turkey (TUBITAK), and Industry.

AMAMRG (UMIMAG) has 15 full-time members and 12 part-time.

The main research subjects of AMAMRG are,

a) Composite materials and manufacturing systems development and measurement of the performance

b) Lightweight structures and Sandwich materials  and manufacturing systems development and measurement of the performance

c) Smart materials, nanomaterials, and nanocomposites, and manufacturing systems development and sensor applications.

d) Impact and shock dynamics, performance testing, and system development.

e) Additive manufacturing systems design and development and their performance prediction

f) Finite Element Analysis

Additive Manufacturing systems and materials development and production, and their applications and FEM modeling are the main research subjects of AMAMRG (UMIMAG). The group has established four leading laboratories up to now by from the projects:

1) Impact And Shock Dynamics Performance Research Lab.

2) Composite Materials And Sandwich Structures and Their Manufacturing Systems Research Lab.

3) Advanced Technologies in Additive Manufacturing Lab. (Additive Manufacturing and 3d Printing Machine Design and Production, Developing Their Materials, and performances predictions)

4) Smart Materials, Nanocomposites, And Sensor Applications Research Lab.
