Abstract:The aims of this study is to point to Compassion Focused Therapy and extend the theoretical argument about this subject. Because there have been very few studies looking at this area. It has been tried to theroretical framework for our country about new therapeutic approch which is spreads through the worldwide in light of the Compassion Focused Therapy literatüre. The research has a qualitative design which considerations on English and Turkısh literature reviews. Compassion Focused Therapy is an integrated and multimodal approach that draws from Developmental, Evolutionary, Social, Buddhist psychologyand Cognitive behavioral therapy and neuro science. In this respect, they are the limits of trying to find Turkish sources as much as the competence of the subject. As a result of the research Compassion Focused Therapy is not only usefull for clinical cases but also effective in helping every people work through troubling thoughts and behaviors, approach themselves and others with greater compassion and kindness, and feel safer and more confident in their ability to handle life’s challenges and difficulties. The case analysis shown that CFT is a effective treatment for presentations high in shame and self-criticism, adapted to assist survivors of abuse. Additionally, positive results have been found with groups suffering with personality disorder, chronical depression, and eating disorders although suggested the need for further, large-scale and high- quality studies.
