Özet:The fast changing conditions of today directly affect the lives of individuals and communities. All these improvements not only affect the life of community but also lead to a constant change and increase in the qualifications an individual needs to possess. Today, the need for person to be educated and constantly improved is more than ever. No matter how perfect a person or the institution he serves is, they are doomed to disappear unless they keep up with developments. As far as the self-training or improvement of the staff is concerned, in-service training is meant. Owing to the fast change in the elements related to crime and security and the fact that this change will continue faster ever cause not only some variations in the duties of the police but also make continuous training a requirement. Training ant duty are not two independent phases but two processes that should be in incessant contact and relation. A profession and in-service training are whole. Consequently, training does not end with the one provided at schools. Schools are not only the beginning; the main training is given within the job. In many developed countries, in their police-training, after the “short-term theoretical training”, a frequent “inservice training” is observed. Considering all of these facts, a re-structuring process had been launched in Turkish National Police Force in order to give more consideration to in-service training. With the Police Higher Education Law, while 20 Police Schools were transformed into Police Vocational School of Higher Education providing 2 year-education, 7 Police School were transformed into Police In-service Training Centers to be used for inservice training courses. Thus, the Police Training Centre has provided a big opportunity for in-service training activities. The primary aim of this study is in-service training activities of Police Organization and the appraisal of Police in-service training centers opened for that reason. In this questionnaire applied in Bursa Police Training Centre, 1218 police supervisors and officers and 137 faculty members were chosen as samples.
