Özet:

The effect of anesthetic inhalation agents on the medical staff working in four different

hospitals located in his province of Bursa had been researched in this study. 60 technicians of

anesthesia working in operation rooms numbered 42 in total were divided into three

experiment periods which, according to the period of exposure to anesthetic agents, were

grouped as 6-10, 11-15 and 16-20 years respectively.

60 individuals with different professions but same age range with the experiment

group were selected as control group. In the blood samples taken regularly every other 3

mounts in a period of year, ALT, AST, ALP, CK, LDH, GST and amylase activities together

with the amount of Na, K, CK-MB, glucose, urea, total protein, total bilirubin, total

cholesterol and triglyceride were measured and number of plateletes, leukocytes and

erytrocytes were determined. The data obtained were assessed by applying statistics on them.

Although results above or below the normal limits were occasionally observed in 120

individuals subject to research, the average of the all parameters measured throughout a whole

year were seen to be within the accepted level, whether in the control group or in the

experiment one. It was found out that, form the enzymes studied only AST and LDH enzymes

in women on one hand, ALT one in men on the other, yielded significant results according to

the control group. But Na and K were seen to be important only in men (p<0.05).

As a result, the data obtained from the parameters studied were found not to be within

level acceptable to be reported. Furthermore, when surveys of the individuals taking part in

the experiment group were examined, the average complaints of the individuals were clearly

seen to be dizziness, fatigue, debility, forgetfulness, headache, nervousness, absentmindedness;

some individuals even expressed complaints such as anemia, panic attack,

uneasiness and skin damage as well.
