Özet:

Effect of Benzene on mouse {Mus Musculus) Liver, Muscle and Testis glycogen levels. In this study, LD30 = 60 mg/kg dose of benzene which is used commonly in industry was administered to the Swiss albino Mus musculus mice by intraperitonaUy injection. The effect of benzene on liver, muscle and testis glycogen levels and blood glucose levels of mice was studied. It was observed that the benzene caused % 36 decrease in the glycogen level of the liver, % 5 of the the muscle and testis. Blood glucose levels of the mice decreased % 13.4. During the period of the study, the effect of benzene was observed generally in the first 32 hours, but this effect considerably decreased in further hours. The results obtained shows that benzene and its metabolites affected the glycogen metabolism. Key words : Benzene, Glycogen, Glucose.
