Abstract:

Taha Abdurrahman, a Moroccan philosopher, has built a unique modernity thought called "spirit of modernity". The theory of the spirit of modernity has been carrying a strong intellectual project in terms of conceptualization and theoritualization. According to this project, the identity correlation between modernity and West is not true. Because the spirit of modernity which is based on puberty, criticism and its own principles has been situated as different levels in every civilization come to light. Also it will be located in the new civilizations which will emerge in the future. This paper is mainly based on Ruhu'l-Hadase and uses a descriptive method in which Taha Abdurrahman's critique and opinions are presented on the topic.
