We investigated the possible relation between admission plasma homocysteine concentration and intracoronary thrombosis in 243 consecutive patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP) and non-Q-wave acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Our results indicated that elevated plasma homocysteine concentrations are associated with an increased intracoronary thrombus burden in patients with UAP and non-Q-wave AMI.
