The coronavirus (Covid-19) is a global pandemic affecting huma- nity and causing numerous fatalities. The ratio of second and fourth finger lengths (2D:4D) has been found to influence the severity of this disease. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the severity of Covid-19 and the finger length ratios (2D:4D). This analytical study was conducted on 245 patients diagnosed with Co- vid-19. Data collection was facilitated using a demographic infor- mation form, disease information form, and finger length measure- ment form. The average age of patients was found to be 44.38±16.71 years, with pain being the initial symptom of Covid-19 experienced. The most common symptoms observed in patients, in order, were fatigue, headache, loss of smell, loss of taste, dry cough, and sore throat. Significant differences were detected between the groups with and without symptoms based on the second and fourth finger length ratios (2D:4D) in both male and female Covid-19 patients. In men, the 2D:4D ratio was significantly higher in the symptomatic group compared to the asymptomatic group. In female patients, the 2D:4D ratio was found to be significantly higher in the symptomatic group for some symptoms, while it was higher in the asymptomatic group for others. It was also determined that the presence of symptoms varied depending on the ratios of right- and left-hand fingers. It is suggested that the 2D:4D ratio could potentially be used in the early diagnosis of certain diseases, such as Covid-19. Further research is recommended for both male and female populations in this area.
