There has been increased interest in alternatives to grass within the realm of planting design studies in urban and rural areas. While grasses are usually easy to establish and maintain, other ground cover plant materials are gaining in popularity, areas where planting and maintenance. Ground covers have an aesthetic, economic and functional contribution to places that require less maintenance by their colour, texture and form features. By their aesthetic view, they unify and emphasise whole the landscape.
