The purpose of this review is to summarize the established and evolving strategies used in the treatment of patients with unstable angina and non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. In this section we particularly emphasize the use of nitrates, beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, statins, and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors.
