Özet

© 2020 Turkish Chambers of Electrical Engineers.Photonic crystals are periodic and aperiodic structures that allow manipulation of light with the photonic bandgap in their structure. The manipulation of light opens up a variety of applications in optics and photonics. One of these application areas is sensor design. High precision sensors have been designed over the last decade using photonic crystals. These sensors are mainly based on physical parameters such as refractive index, temperature, and pressure variation. In this study, a sensor is designed using a two-dimensional photonic crystal with a triangular lattice structure. This sensor consists of holes placed periodically on a silicon wafer and deliberate defects formed on the photonic crystal. The defect modes obtained with this sensor design enabled the targeted samples to be detected.
