Highest productivity was found in Festuca (25.61 kg/ha) which is a typical alpine community, the lowest amount in Nardus (12.91 kg/ha) which is located in a subalpine region. The value for Juniperus, the other community of the subalpine region, was 25.09 kg/ha. Nitrification in Festuca was markedly higher than the other communities. Nitrogen mineralization, especially in the Nardus community, appeared to be inhibited due to an excess amount of soil humidity. -from English summary
