Özet

© 2022, Milli Egitim. All Rights Reserved. This study aims to concentrate on the ways of making decisions and problem solving skills of teachers and school managers. For this purpose, the study was designed according to the descriptive and relational screening model, which is a quantitative research method. This study took place in schools located in Yıldırım, Bursa. The participants of the study are school managers and teachers working in Yıldırım, Bursa during the 2020-2021 academic year. The researchers of the study have developed Personal Information Forms, Problem Solving Scales (PÇÖ), Melbourne Making Decision Scale (MKVÖ) and used them to get the necessary data for the research. To analyze the data gathered from the scales we have used SPSS 21.0 package programme, Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests and for the comparison of group we used MW test. The correlation between the variants have been analyzed with the help of Spearman coefficient of correlation. As a result when we evaluate the data from all these scales about the ways of making decisions and problem solving skills of teachers and school managers, we can say that school managers lack self-respect while making decisions. Also it is seen that teachers and managers who show a careful decision making profile have good problem solving skills however the ones with avoiding, postponer and impatient personality types have ineffective problem solving skills.
