In this study, the
behavior of sandwich materials with continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic
composite layer composite top and bottom plates under blast load was experimentally
investigated. Continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites are fully
recyclable and environmentally friendly composites. Experiments were carried
out in the laboratory environment using the shock tube test set-up in AMAMRG
Lab. Shock pressure profiles formed after the explosion and on the front
surface of the sandwich plate were obtained. The displacement variations during
the impact of the shock load were measured from the sandwich plate's back
surface. Moreover, permanent displacements of sandwich panels after the
explosion were measured. Three different core structures were applied and
comparatively examined in the sandwich materials used.
