Abstract

The applicability of a DETATA sorbent to the preconcentration of lead and cadmium followed by the determination of these elements in urine using atomic absorption spectrometry with electrothermal atomization was demonstrated. After preconcentration by a factor of 10, the limits of detection were 0.01 and 0.2 mu g/L for cadmium and lead, respectively. The accuracy of the results was supported by the analysis of Seronorm Trace Elements Urine (Batch no. 101021).
