Abstract

The coupling of electromagnetic power into a process gas volume generates

the plasma medium which is the fourth state of matter, including a dynamic mix

of ions, electrons, neutrons, photons, free radicals, meta-stable excited species,

molecular and polymeric fragments at room temperature .This provides the

surface functionalization/modification of fibres and textiles without affecting their

bulk properties
