Özet

At least one third of the students spend at school. It is known that quiet, calm and peaceful learning environment supports students' cognitive, sensory and social development, but noise environments create stress, distraction, difficulty in understanding, fatigue and unwillingness to learn. In this study, by providing integrated education on noise, students' attitudes towards noise in the classroom will be evaluated. The study was conducted with 23 third grade students at a private primary school in Karaköprü district of Şanlıurfa. Since the researcher is also a classroom teacher, this is an action research. In the research, qualitative data collection tools such as observation, interview, student diaries, pictures and cartoons were used. Studies show that the noise inside the school yard and school building is above the regulation limit values. In the context of integrated education, four books were read in an interactive way in order to increase the students' awareness about noise. Within the scope of integration, integration with painting and art, integration with written expression, integration with real life were carried out. Then, during the integration phase with real life, classroom rules were established to prevent classroom noise with the participation of students. Integrated educational activities have attracted and amazed students. When the findings were interpreted, there was a change in students' attitudes towards noise in the classroom. For example, it is observed that they stimulate each other's noisy behaviors and encourage whispering. Based on these findings, education should be provided to create noise awareness in primary schools and these trainings should be disseminated.
