In the following work, an examination of learning technique of first-year teacher trainees in German as foreign language at Uludag University will be presented. To collect and evaluate information about students' learning techniques, a questionnaire was used whose objective is not to identify good or bad learning users, whose objective is not the detection of good or bad learning technology users, but it tries to highlight which learning techniques students prefer or reject. The results of the questionnaire show that students’ do not sufficiently and unconsciously apply learning strategies and techniques and that the integration of learning strategies and learning techniques in the courses has a positive impact. It was important to make the students aware that the lecturer does not provide the finished information and work schedules, but that the task of the students is to research, analyze and plan. Thus, they are responsible for their learning process.
