Özet

To the best of our knowledge, there are many reports on helminths found in Lacerta agilis from different regions. However, there is no report on the helminth fauna of L. agilis distributed in Turkiye. Hence, we investigated the diversity of parasitic helminths and their prevalence in Sand Lizards L. agilis (Linnaeus, 1758) (Sauria: Lacertidae) in Ardahan, Turkiye. Two helminth species (Nematoda) were found in the L. agilis: Oswaldocruzia filiformis (Goeze, 1782) and Spauligodon cabrerae Castano-Fernandez, Zapatero-Ramos & Solera Puertas 1988. Overall helminth prevalences were not relatively high for host species (13/49 (27%)). Lacerta agilis is a new host record for S. cabrerae and Ardahan Province is a new locality record for both helminth species.
