Based on the use of Gauss-Seidel iterations, a new recursive parameter adaptation algorithm is used to adjust the parameters of model reference adaptive controllers. The RGS (Recursive Gauss-Seidel) algorithm is adapted for direct model reference adaptive control of minimum phase discrete-time systems based on pole-zero placement method. Also, a Lyapunov stability analysis of the closed-loop system with the used RGS algorithm is performed.
