Eggshell quality has always been an important problem in layer industry. Numerous studies have been conducted to solve poor shell quality problems. Many of these studies have focussed on macro minerals but trace minerals play an important role in egg shell quality and shell formation (Scheideler and Ceylan, 2001). Several studies have indicated that boron (B) is an important mineral, for growth performance in broilers and for egg production, egg weight and egg shell quality in laying hens. Purpose of this study was to determine the effects of B on performance and particularly on eggshell formation and quality in laying quails.
