Multi-cell thin-walled structures are used as energy-absorbing parts in many sectors such as automobile and aerospace due to their advantages such as lightweight, high energy absorption capacity and low cost. Researchers have proposed different approaches to increase the energy absorption capacity of thin-walled multi-cell tubes. Some of these approaches are tubes inspired by nature and the use of geometric shapes in different ways. In addition to energy absorption, these structures are expected to have high crashworthiness performance. In this study, the studies presented to improve the crash performances of multi-cell thin-walled structures in recent years are summarized.
