Objective: The aim of this study is to comparatively evaluate the educational quality and reliability of videos

regarding the resin infiltration technique, using assessments by human experts and an artificial intelligence

(AI) large language model (Gemini 3.1 Pro).

Methods: A total of 118 videos, searched on the YouTube™ platform using the keywords 'resin infiltration

technique' and 'white spot lesion treatment' and selected according to predetermined inclusion and exclusion

criteria, were included in the study. The videos were independently scored by two restorative dentistry experts

and an AI model that directly observed and analyzed the video content, using the Global Quality Scale (GQS),

modified DISCERN, and the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) criteria. Furthermore, the

videos were categorized by uploader source and content type; the relationship between popularity metrics such

as viewing rate, interaction index (II), and video power index (VPI) and the quality scores was analyzed.

Statistical analyses were performed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, Spearman's correlation, and the Wilcoxon

signed-rank test for the human-AI comparison.

Results: The mean GQS score of the human raters was 3.46±0.94, the modified DISCERN score was

2.81±0.87, and the JAMA score was 2.30±1.35, whereas in the AI evaluation, these values were determined

as 3.40±0.83, 2.76±0.69, and 2.04±1.22, respectively; no statistically significant difference was found between

human and AI scores (p>0.05). While a positive correlation was observed between GQS and modified

DISCERN scores in human evaluations (r=0.578, p<0.01), a significant difference was detected based on the

uploader source, and a weak relationship was found between popularity metrics and quality scores (r=0.002).

Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that the video-based AI model exhibited a performance largely

coinciding with human experts in assessing the quality of resin infiltration videos. Although YouTube™ is an

accessible information source, there is a need to increase content with high scientific accuracy. This indicates

the potential value of both expert evaluation and AI-supported hybrid approaches in the quality control of

online medical videos used in patient and student education.
