In recent years car producers increased the number of system improvement and development studies due to raised last
user customer demands. Against the reduction to use internal combustion engines and change on motor technology,
damper systems utilization continues. Clutch disc damper system is the most significant product to improve dumping
performance of the vehicle related to comfort when torque transferred from engine to transmission system. Because of
that, the importance of clutch disc hysteresis improvement and development studies increased. Hysteresis variation to
be taken under control or variation of hysteresis to be limited to improve comfort parameter of clutch disc. Most
important inputs on product development studies are mechanical frictions and a considerable amount of variable
parameters. For this reason, the changes of parameters affecting the hysteresis variation should be minimized and the
variability of the component functions affecting the hysteresis values should be at a minimum level.
In this study, the metal components have the greatest effect on hysteresis with different coatings over time, abrasions on
components and load changes of elastic washers were analyzed. The number of analyzed parameters limited with metal
components friction effect and elastic washer load change due to high number of variable parameters and affected
parameters on the hysteresis system were investigated. It has been observed that the elastic washer load change has a
dominant effect up to a certain time and after that coated metal washers have more important effect on hysteresis
evaluation.
