This study is conducted to investigate the historical evolution of music education applied in Primary, Secondary, High School and Higher Education levels in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus by considering particular dimensions, and in the light of these, to make a contribution to the development of music education with some suggestions. The model chosen for the study is based on status inventory. The data are gathered by means of interview, questionnaire and literature review. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved
