Özet

All economic units play an important role in mitigating the effects of climate change and achieving sustainable development goals. Banks occupy an important place in the basic production and consumption cycle. In this context, under UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 Responsible Production and Consumption, banks need to raise awareness among all stakeholders and produce innovative practices that benefit society and encourage sustainable consumption. Green banking, which encompasses banks' activities focused on SDG 13 on Climate Action, emphasizes sustainability and the financing of environmentally conscious projects. Considering the significant impact of the decisions made by the bank's stakeholders on the environment, green banking, which promotes sustainability, contributes to the SDGs. With green banking practices, the banking sector plays a motivating role between economic development and environmental protection. Sustainable consumption behavior is related to sustainable development goals. For sustainable consumer behavior, consumers need to be informed and encouraged on environmental issues. This study aims to examine publications related to the concepts of “green banking” and “sustainable consumer behavior” to determine the topics covered, the themes that stand out, and to offer suggestions for future studies. The data was obtained from the WoS database and evaluated using the Bibliometric R program. The analysis revealed that the number of studies had increased significantly by 2020. Sustainability, Journal of Business Ethics, and International Journal of Consumer Studies are the journals with the most publications. The most productive countries are India, Pakistan, and China. It was determined that the concepts of green banking and sustainable consumer behavior were mostly examined in conjunction with the concepts of sustainability, attitude, consumption, green banking, impact, and intention.
