In this study, how to fight against
many pests that harm crops in agricultural production with methods that do not
harm the environment and people is examined in the light of some scientific
basic information. In addition, prescriptions have been prepared on how to make
some natural remedies that can be prepared at home in this struggle.
As it is known, in the fight
against both diseases and pests in agriculture, chemical control method is
preferred in order to get results in a short time and not to work too hard.
However, the harms of this form of struggle to nature, the environment and
human beings are always ignored. Many endemic plants and many useful creatures
lose their lives as a result of not using chemicals either in situ or in
excessive doses; These substances, which mix with the underground waters, mix
with the water we drink and return to us from the tap of our house. One of the
reasons for the increase in many cancer cases today is the return of these
harmful chemicals used in both plant and animal production to us in food.
Organic control against harmful
insects in agriculture is carried out as Cultural, Physical and Mechanical,
Biological and Chemical (as a last resort and with pesticides permitted by the
ministry).
Cultural control is the most widely
used control method, and it has been examined under the main headings of
controlling weeds and removing plant residues from the production area, using
plant species and varieties adapted to the conditions of the region, adjusting
the sowing-planting and harvesting time, and cleaning of agricultural
tools-machines.
Pheromones, Colored/Colorless
sticky traps, light traps, insecticidal soaps, oily sprays and trap plants were
examined in physical and mechanical control methods.
Predators, Entomopathogen and the
species used in this control are included in the biological control method.
The
chemical control method is mentioned very briefly and it is aimed to inform the
reader by giving information about the inorganic origin drugs approved by the
ministry.
