Abstract

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing method that is used to manufacture functional parts in which thermoplastic filament material is melt-extruded and deposited in layer-onlayer, recently developing rapidly. In this study, infill pattern that is a FDM process parameter has been changed as the variants of Grid, Trihexagon, and Cross3d while other process parameters were kept constant to compare the effect of these on mechanical properties. In additionly, eSUN e-Pa Polyamide has been used as the type of filament. Test specimens have been subjected to a compression test and then the values of stress-strain curve, ultimate tensile strength, energy absorption capacity have been obtained. According to this study, the best infill pattern has been determined by taking the production time and mechanical properties into account.
