Özet

In this research, machining features are considered as key factor towards fixture design and process planning integration. A feature is used as a functional entity in terms of geometric and non-geometric machining process attributes. Features are grouped into set-ups based on machining directions and production rules. Set-up planning information enables the consideration of the fixture design configuration, locating locators, clamps and supports. The approach adopted in this research was to solve the workpiece control problems and to satisfy the workholding design requirements using a feature based system. Some design problems in workpiece control such as the support positioning requirements and control of the efficiency of the location system are determined by means of finite element deflection and stress analysis.
