Özet
As sustainable development gains importance, environmental education is increasingly addressed through interdisciplinary approaches, yet its integration with physical education remains underexplored. This research aimed to investigate the impact of an 8-week green exercise-supported environmental education (GESEE) program on Turkish secondary school students' environmental sensitivity. The sample consisted of 64 children aged 10-12 (32= GESEE, 32= Control); 60 were included in the data analysis (28= GESEE, 32= Control). Mixed-method research with a pre-test post-test, randomized control group design was used. ESSC, PAQ-C, PACES, and science diaries were used as data collection tools. Results showed that GESEE Group increased its environmental sensitivity. There was no change in physical activity enjoyment and physical activity level. Qualitative data revealed that children predominantly had environmental education outcomes, while green exercise increased interest and participation in environmental education by creating positive emotions. Green exercise may provide a meaningful opportunity to promote environmental sensitivity and sustainability in physical education.
