This study aims to examine the relationship between the Borsa Istanbul 100 return index and investor sentiment. In this research covering the period May 2012 - March 2024, BIST-100 Return Index and Consumer Confidence Index (TGE), which reflects investor sentiment, Bloomberg HT Consumer Confidence Index (BLOOM), Real Sector Confidence Index (RGE), Financial Services Confidence Index (FHGE)., Economic Confidence Index (EGE), CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), Risk Appetite Index (RISE) and Credit Default Swap (CDS) indicators were used. The relationship between the BIST-100 return index and the indicators measuring investor sentiment has been examined through the Toda Yamamoto (1995) test. The analysis concluded that there is a bidirectional causality relationship between the BIST 100 return index and both the Consumer Confidence Index and Credit Default Swaps. Additionally, a one-way relationship has been detected from the Economic Confidence Index and the Risk Appetite Index to the BIST 100, and from the BIST 100 to the Bloomberg HT Consumer Confidence Index. On the other hand, no causality relationship has been found between the BIST 100 and the Real Sector Confidence Index, Financial Services Confidence Index, Economic Confidence Index, and the Volatility Index.
