Abstract

The aim of this study is to research the relationship between hydraulic conductivity and resistivity on different formations. For this purpose, a total of 9 different field studies were carried out on Alluvium, Mudanya, Nilufer and Pasayayla formations on the basis of the geology map of Bursa established by the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration in 2009. Slug tests were performed in the wells drilled on each of the study areas and hydraulic conductivity values were determined by using Bouwer-Rice and Dagan analytical methods. In addition, the vertical electric sounding method was applied using the Schlumberger array in areas where wells are located. The values obtained from the field study were processed using IPI2win software and the real resistivity values of layers in study regions were found. After collecting water samples from each well, electric conductivity values were measured in the laboratory and resistivities of water samples were calculated. For each location, formation factor was calculated as a ratio of real resistivity to groundwater resistivity. The relation between formation factor and hydraulic conductivity were investigated and a linear relationship was found. It is believed that this study will be beneficial to groundwater research studies.
