Abstract

Recently, transportation in cattle has become a routine management practice as livestock export or import have become more common. The welfare and health of animals can be substantially affected by transport. During transport, many factors such as loading, unloading, loading density, transport duration, water and feed needs of animals and movements of vehicle directly affect on animal welfare, health, carcass and meat quality. In this review, some factors affecting on cattle welfare during transport were examined.
