Özet

This study introduces a non-intrusive, data-acquisition and monitoring architecture designed for manual TIG welding stations. The system integrates three communication layers—CAN, Modbus/RS-232, and Ethernet—to achieve full traceability of welding and operator events without modifying the original control structure of the power source. A high-impedance, galvanically isolated CAN interface passively captures current, voltage, and operational flags directly from the welding unit’s internal bus. Simultaneously, a Delta HMI terminal provides operator-level interactions such as job initiation, downtime reason entry, and shift reporting through Modbus communication. All data are transmitted to a central database for KPI computation, OEE analysis, and production traceability. The approach enables real-time synchronization between the welding process and the MES layer, bridging legacy TIG systems with Industry 4.0 infrastructures. The monitoring design ensures electrical and protocol isolation, guaranteeing full safety and compliance while delivering high-fidelity process intelligence.
