Abstract
Listening – as one of the four skills- has a crucial role in both casual and academic life. The
first input which a language learner is exposed to is generated with the help of this least-wondered
skill (Yıldırım, 2016). However, in spiteof such a significance in both first and second/ foreign
language learning, this important skill still comprises a considerable number of aspects which need
to be progressed.
One of these important domains is learning and teaching listening by means of listening
strategies. Language learners are in need of varied listening instruction, specifically through distinct
strategies (Murphy, 1985). On the contrary, there has been little research implemented on specific
listening strategies. The reason is that listening skill has been considerably put into the bakcground
and not been adequately emphasized. At this point, note-taking could be considered as one of the
useful while-listening strategies to be applied so as to make progress in learners’ listening
comprehension performance and raise further awareness in listening.
