Özet
The development of multifunctional cementitious materials capable of providing mechanical performance, electromagnetic shielding, and self-sensing functionality is important for smart infrastructure applications. This study investigates cement mortars incorporating carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and nano carbon black through an integrated experimental, numerical, and machine-learning framework. CNT and nano carbon black contents ranged from 0.05 to 1.00 wt% and 0.50–3.00 wt%, respectively. Mechanical performance was evaluated through compressive and flexural strength, while electromagnetic shielding, dielectric response, and impedance-based self-sensing behavior were assessed using FDTD analysis and EIS-based measurements. The principal novelty lies in the combined evaluation of mechanical, electromagnetic, dielectric, and self-sensing responses within a unified CNT/nano carbon black material-design framework, supported by FEM, FDTD, and machine-learning analyses. Within the investigated range, the mixture containing 1.00% CNT and 3.00% nano carbon black exhibited the highest performance, achieving compressive, tensile, and flexural strengths of 24.7, 5.8, and 12.1 MPa, respectively. The corresponding shielding effectiveness reached 47.5 dB at 5 GHz and 49.2 dB at 10 GHz, while the dielectric constant at 1 MHz, gauge factor, and impedance changes under 30 MPa reached 138.0, 22.7, and 46.4%, respectively. These results are consistent with the combined effects of crack bridging, conductive-network formation, tunneling, strain-dependent contact resistance, impedance contrast, and interfacial polarization, while field-induced tunneling may also contribute under applied electrical fields. The findings establish the potential of hybrid CNT/nano carbon black cement mortars as multifunctional materials for structural, electromagnetic-shielding, and self-sensing applications, within the investigated mixture and testing conditions.
