Özet

Floods are among the most devastating natural hazards in the world, claiming the largest amount of lives and property damage. Determination of the flood extent by using remote sensing technologies for a particular area is more easy today. Also, obtaining of multi-temporal and multi-resolution satellite images give us kinds of oppurtunities on extracting of the inundated areas. A case study has been applied on the Mahanadi river which is located in eastern side of India where occur floods every year due to monsoon rainfall.
