Abstract

Cramer-Rao bound expressions are derived in closed-form for data and non-data-aided SNR estimation of BPSK signals in flat Rayleigh fading channels employing uncorrelated dual MRC diversity. Assuming correlation between the two branches, presented are the bounds most conveniently as plots because of their complexity. Bound expressions are also given for the case of no diversity for comparison.
