Abstract

It is accepted that there are three methods in writing of usul al-fiqh: Fuqaha, mutakallimin and mamzuc method/tariqa al-cem'. The first book of usul al-fiqh written by mamzuc method (the tariqah al-cem'.) is Muzaffer al-din Ibn al-Sa'ati's book called Nihayat al-wusul ila 'ilm al-usul. Ibn al-Sa'ati has written his Work on the basis of Usul al-Pezdevi and Amidi's al-Ihkam. The questions such as "why mamzuc method emerges in a theoretical discipline such as usul al-fiqh", "What the purpose of this method is", "at what points and how the mazc/combination occurs" are awaiting to be replied. In this article, the mamjuc method/the tariqah al-cem'., will be examined by taking the Nihayat al-wusul ila 'ilm al-usul into the center.
