This paper describes a week-long German-Turkish joint-seminar in Germany, where Turkish students of German as a foreign language from Uludag University and German students from different disciplines from Technical University of Darmstadt have worked together. This qualitative survey investigates the effects of this joint-seminar on the development of functional communicational skills and intercultural communicational skills of students and their willingness to carry out similar projects in the future. In this vein, the interviews took place before and after the joint-seminar, whereby the Turkish students were divided into three groups depending on their experiences abroad. This allowed to determine differences and similarities between the groups and found developments between pre- and post-interviews.
