Özet

In an electro-pneumatic brake valve system, the proportional flow can be provided with the proportional solenoid in a certain working area. In applications related to fluid power systems, the proportional output can also be obtained by using on-off type solenoid driven with methods such as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique. In this study, the usability of the on-off type solenoid structure instead of the proportional solenoid in the electro-pneumatic brake valve was theoretically investigated. The dynamic characteristics of the designed solenoid have been modeled using finite elements and model-based design methods, and the results obtained with both methods have been found to be compatible with each other. The electro-pneumatic brake valve using an on-off type solenoid was modeled by a model-based design method in MATLAB/Simulink environment. PWM technique was applied at various frequencies determined by considering the opening and closing times of the solenoid and the proportional operating behavior of the system was examined. As a result of driving the designed structure with the PWM signal, it was seen that proportional output can be obtained from the electro-pneumatic brake valve output.
