Özet

In this chapter, the gamma-ray shielding parameters such as linear attenuation coefficient (LAC), HVL, mean free path (MFP), and mass attenuation coefficient (MAC) were investigated for various marble samples at Eskisehir and Usak province in Turkey. Investigated marbles are labelled that Sarıcakaya beige marble (E1), Sivrihisar beige marble  (E2), Supreme marble (E3), Usak green marble (U1), Usak white marble (U2) and Usak yellow marble (U3). These parameters were computed for four different energies gamma rays 356, 662, 1173, and 1330 keV, using the FLUKA and GEANT4 Monte Carlo codes. The obtained values were also compared with XCOM’s results.
