Abstract:
In this study, the trend of offshore wind turbine technology in the short and long
terms has been investigated, and potential solution techniques have been illustrated.
The results of analyses regarding offshore and land based installations were
presented, showing how costs differ offshore, and what this could mean for the
future direction of technology developed specifically for offshore applications was
discussed. The other aim of the study is the analysis of analysis and operation issues
of offshore wind farms by investigating the Project of Concerted Action on Offshore
Wind Energy in Europe (CA-OWEE), funded by the European Commission. Also, the
probability of installing offshore wind farms in Turkey was considered with regard
to energy requirements.
