Özet

All of the Islamic sects are in alliance that pronouncing the word of amen after the recitation of Surah al-Fatiha in all obligatory and supererogatory prayers is sunnah. The matter of controversy is that whether the pronunciation of the word of amen both by the Imam and jamaah is sunnah or not during the prayers performed with jamaah and in which the recitation is made loudly. This circumstance does not harm the validity of prayer. However, the source of this practice is wondered and creates some question marks about the topic. The main reason making this matter polemic is the fact that there are different traditions supporting the pronunciation of amen loudly or silently in the Hadith sources.
