Özet

The development of H2-receptor antagonists and proton pump inhibitors of gastric acid secretion has led to an increased incidence of gastric carcinoid tumors. These lesions are less than 3% of gastrointestinal carcinoids. There is a definite association between the occurence of gastric carcinoid tumors and pernicious anemia, atrophic gastritis (type A), and the Zollinger- Ellison syndrome. These patients had single or multiple polypoid lesions, with tumor extension limited to the mucosa or the submucosa. Although 25% of gastric carcinoid metastasize, they are rarely associated with a systemic carcinoid syndrome. Gastric carcinoids, especially when solitary, are treated by surgical resection. Because of gastric carcinoids are uncommon in the literature, we want to present a case, which was treated endoscopic polypectomy and surgical resection respectively, and to review the literature about gastric carcinoids.
