Proje Özeti
NEURODRIVE aims to develop and validate a next-generation neuroadaptive virtual reality (VR) assessment platform to evaluate driving-related attention and executive function in individuals with clinically diagnosed Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). By leveraging multimodal biosignal acquisition (EEG, EDA, HRV, eye-tracking) and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), the platform will deliver personalized, real-time assessments of cognitive fitness-to-drive in safe, simulated environments. The project addresses a critical gap in current clinical and licensing practices, which lack objective, scalable tools to evaluate cognitive impairments in driving contexts-despite ADHD drivers being 2–4 times more
likely to be involved in traffic accidents.
NEURODRIVE is built on a rigorous, interdisciplinary foundation, uniting clinical psychiatry, neuroscience, machine learning, human-computer interaction, and ethics. The work plan integrates biosignal preprocessing (WP2), immersive VR scenario design (WP3), multimodal AI-based risk prediction (WP4), and clinical validation with ADHD and control groups (WP5). The solution will be tested across Europe with end users and stakeholders including psychiatrists, licensing authorities, and patient organizations. Dissemination, exploitation, and sustainability activities (WP6) will ensure broad visibility and long-term impact.
By combining real-time physiological insight with adaptive simulation and interpretable AI, NEURODRIVE will not only improve road safety and driver inclusion for neurodivergent populations but also set a new European benchmark for ethical, science-based.
