Abstract:In this study, exact determination of print paste demand, a subject to be very important in textile printing, is studied. To calculate this before the printing process, the design is scanned from either a fabric or a paper and the ratio of each color is found. This done via the programme written here or the results of a CAD system, giving the ratios of each color. The paste demand for the unit area of the fabric used under different printing parameters was found in the experiments done and they were saved in a data file formed in the programme. As the programme is run, paste demand for each color is calculated as well as the total print paste demand. In the first part of the thesis, factors effecting the paste application and the developments in the printing systems that optimise the paste consumption are examined. In the following chapter, paste demand for a design saved in the hard disc or a floppy disc is calculated using the experimental data in the programme is calculated. This programme is written in Delphi 4.0. In the final part, the results of the experimental study and the screen visions are given.
